Education industry has seen more than four thousand five hundred courses dropped from various institutes across India due to vacant sheets and more than five hundred institutes and already put their shutters down in last five years and further nearly thousand are on the card of extinction. Major chunk of the segments affected were from professional segments like engineering, management, hospitality, architecture etc. The All India Council of Technical Education is striving hard in an innovative way to save further such dying institute through merging similar collages which are in vicinity of each other or buyouts. The idea is to utilize common facilities like library, laboratory etc. to cut down the operational cost of education. The board is looking after the legal implication and pros and cons of such engagement however it is in no mood to compromise on quality of education, faculty student ration and faculty payout.
